1.Tray or level floor, framed as a question

Note how a tray edge or a level threshold would meet the rest of the floor finish, and how that junction would look from the doorway.
The threshold is the most looked-at line in the room after the glass, and it is decided by details agreed long before tiling starts.
Ask what happens at the doorway if part or all of the floor is laid to a fall towards the waste.
Falls have to go somewhere and the doorway is where they become visible, which surprises owners who only pictured the shower area.

2.Where the water goes once it leaves the head

4.Glass, framing and the joints they create

Panels are heavy and their fixings are hidden behind tiling, which makes this a question to settle before the wall is finished.

7.Living with the enclosure once it is in use
An enclosure is judged over years by how it dries, cleans and wears. Ask about that while you can still change the choice.
Note how long the current enclosure takes to dry after use and what is left visible on the glass afterwards.
What the glass looks like an hour after use tells you about the water where you live and about how quickly this room recovers.
Decide who will wipe the glass down after use and whether that will realistically happen every single time.
Enclosures are often chosen on the assumption of daily wiping, and being honest about that changes which one makes sense.
Consider how the enclosure is cleaned at floor level and whether anything blocks a hand or a cloth at the corners.
The bottom of the enclosure is where residue collects, and awkward corners there are the source of most enclosure complaints.
Ask what upkeep the seals, rollers and moving parts are expected to need, and how each of them would be replaced.
Moving parts wear at different rates, and knowing which are replaceable is worth more than knowing how the enclosure looks new.
Ask the supplier and the installer what upkeep and replacement parts the chosen enclosure expects, and keep their answer in writing.
Say now that you want the seal, roller and glass references included in whatever is handed over when the work finishes.
Replacement seals are ordered from a reference nobody writes down at the time, and asking for it late usually comes down to guesswork.
