Keeping a Timber Structure Dry During Construction

There is a period in every timber building when the structure is up and nothing is keeping the weather off it. It is short on a drawing and rarely short in practice, and it is the one period nobody has clearly been made responsible for.

The published system entries ask about it repeatedly. Timber platform frame, mass timber, structural insulated panels and timber-framed external walls each raise protection between erection and enclosure as a design question, and each stops there, because an entity page describes one thing and cannot organise a programme.

This guide develops the question into something you can put to a designer and a contractor before the frame is ordered.
