Support Bracket
Explains the bracket as both the load path and the principal thermal bridge of a supported facade.

Overview
What a bracket is
A bracket fixes to the backing structure and projects outward, and the rest of the facade support hangs off it. Every bracket carries a share of the cladding's weight and a share of the wind load acting on it, in both directions.
It is also the element that passes through the insulation. Insulation is applied to the backing wall, and the bracket has to cross it to reach the cladding, which makes brackets the dominant thermal bridge in a supported facade.
