A glass-reinforced polyester lining sheet is a composite laminate: glass fibre reinforcement held in a cured polyester resin matrix, produced as a flat sheet with a textured or smooth face. Because the resin is thermoset, the sheet has been chemically cured rather than simply formed from a softened plastic, and it cannot be reflowed or welded closed the way a thermoplastic sheet can.
That single difference drives most of what follows.
