A heated floor changes the covering decision from a matter of taste and traffic into a compatibility question. The covering sits in a build-up that warms and cools repeatedly, it sits between the heat and the room, and it is held down by something that also has to tolerate the cycling.

The trap is not that some coverings are impossible. What the heat is actually doing to the build-up
