What composite decking is
Composite decking boards are formed by extruding wood flour or wood fibre bound in a polymer matrix into a board profile. Sections may be solid or hollow cored with internal webs. Boards are either uncapped, where the same compound runs through to the surface, or capped, where a co-extruded polymer skin is bonded over the exposed faces during manufacture and carries the colour and texture.
The material family is shared with composite wood cladding, but the application is not.
